Fun & Laughter Over the Festive Season - Positive Psychology Tips to help you enjoy this special time.

November 23, 2015 Peter Doyle
Festive Season

“IT IS DREADFUL & NEARLY THE END OF THE WORLD WHEN CHRISTMAS DAY IS NOT HOW I WANT IT TO BE !!! “

In our confidential consultations with our wonderfully diverse and interesting range of clients, we have enjoyed the privilege over many years of professional service, to be able to identify underlying patterns of limiting beliefs that a person may not be directly aware is negatively affecting them.

The above “limiting belief” we have highlighted in bold text is one example of the way that many worthwhile people can unnecessarily sabotage the fun, laughter and joy that could otherwise be available to them around the family dining table gathering on 25th December.

Because a limiting belief is irrational and typically triggered automatically, it creates a “double whammy” where we can respond hurtfully to our loved ones in a confrontational and judgmental way, just because of an unspoken internal story in our head of how things have to be the way I want.

Even worse many of us do not even recognise how we came to be so attached to our stubborn little voice inside our heads that is depriving us from deeper joy and happiness by not being able to let go of these expectations and instead just having playful fun, truly letting the tension go.

Enjoy your family Christmas with those you love most even more this year, by learning to recognise and reframe those embedded limiting beliefs that can affect every one of us on certain occasions.

Our door is always open if you need some help in letting go of past stuff that no longer serves you well and begin stepping more joyfully into the life you truly desire !
